Thanks for having the forum! I just traded my 2019 Mini Clubman S for a 2020 E-Pace. I picked it up Saturday. It's a basic SE with the Meridian Surround. I also opted for the roof rack to use without the rails so I can haul my kayak around. So far, it's a very comfortable ride, much smoother and quieter than the Mini, and still accelerates with a nice throttle response.

I'll have had mine two weeks tomorrow and so far so good. Went from a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and the Jag is MUCH quieter. And much better gas mileage too. How 'bout some pics of your new cub?
Just got mine on Sat.

Fingers crossed after reading about so many issues.

Off the bat, I need to know why the dealer is hustling me to sign up for InControl and why the salesman cannot answer my questions.

Does it cost anything after the 3-month Trial?

Can I opt out when the trial period ends?

Do I need InControl?

Thanks in advance for any input!

I'll get some pics when it stops raining in Ohio. :) As far as the car goes, it's been great so far. I only have 2 issues:

1.) My temperature units keep changing from Fahrenheit to Celsius every time I start the car (outside temp and inside temp on the knobs)
2.) I cannot get the radio to recognize my USB flash drive (128gb samsung). It was formatted as exfat on my PC, didn't work. So, I put it in my Mac, formatted it (still exFat), moved my songs back over, and it STILL doesn't recognize it. Some songs are MP3, some are .wav.

Any suggestions on the above issues would be greatly appreciated! If nothing, I'll be in the dealership on Saturday to have them install my roof rack cross rails for the first time.

Thanks!
I look forward to seeing your pictures. A couple of mine here. I'm in the UK, but I'm an American, so I immediately set my units to Fahrenheit and it has not changed. What software version are you on? I'm on S19C_19.46.4-458817. There is a S20A_20.07.5-507626 out, but the SOTA for it has been suspended while they are investigating a "potential concern" what ever that means. As for the flash drive, I'm also using a 128Gb, but I've formatted it FAT32. Not sure if that makes a difference, but mine works fine. Check your ICTP software version, that could fix both issues you're having.

Hope you enjoy your new ride. The InControl is, I think market oriented. Mine was included for three years here in the UK. The SIM I was provided is good for 500Mb per month, also included for the first three years. Do you need it? Heck no! You only need your car to start, stop and go to get you from one location to another, but some of the features are cool. The remote start for climate control is great in that you can start it and set the temperature from anywhere in the world using the app on your phone. Not that I'd necessarily want to start my car in the UK while I'm in the US, but I could imagine parking the car at the airport, traveling to the US with my wife, her coming back without me and needing help finding the car in the vast airport parking lot. She could give me a ring and I could activate the flash and beep to help her find it and I could even unlock the doors for her. Being able to lock the car from the app is also cool if you'd forgotten. The app shows the status of windows, locks, alarm and car's location. The journey planner could also be useful for some that need the information for business travel expenses. Or say you're away and you have house sitters. You check the app and journey planner to see that your house sitters not only took your car for a ride, you can even see where they went! All the little features are cool, but if I was paying an additional monthly fee, I'd have to think long and hard as to whether the cool factor is worth it. Your mileage may vary.

Great looking ride you have, Rayquayle! I really like that color. I'll get pics of mine up soon. Thank you for the advice. I'll try formatting my drive as FAT32 and add a couple songs and see if it works when I get home. I'm not sure what version of software I'm on, either, but I'll check that out later. I *DO* know that when I performed "update software," it said I'm on current version - no update available.
OK, the FAT32 worked. I now have a 128GB flash drive with 85GB of tunes formatted in FAT32 and working like a champ. My software is S19A_19.24.2-375121 and I still cannot get the memory to hold on the temperature (switches back to celsius after I start the car). I also noticed that my comfort exit/entry (seats) doesn't work every time...

I'm really pleased the FAT32 formatting worked for you. You might try your dealer to get version 19C since your ICTP shows no update available from 19A.
Welcome to the forum Sbreech! My guess is that you're going to have to get your dealer to look at what's going on.

Thanks! I have an appointment scheduled for the 23rd with my dealer. They said the update takes 6 to 8 hours!

I'm also getting the front windows tinted that day...

I love this car. Everything about it. To answer my own question (for others who may ask) InControl is FREE for the life of the warranty and requires a data plan thereafter.

I thought it would be cool if the surround camera system could be viewed thru the app for 360º surveillance while the car is parked but it's not intended for anything but a parking aid.

This is my first vehicle with no CD player and it felt like a major loss. But with a $200 iPod Touch 7 stashed in the center console I now have the best hands-free jukebox I could ever hope for, so it's a major win. With the iPod's Siri feature I can simply talk to it and hear whatever music I want. The sound system is lush though I wish it had a graphic EQ with more bands.

My panel reads temps in Fº without any manual tinkering.

I can think of some minor things to improve but overall this is the most fun car I've owned, at least for the 130 miles I have on it. I highly recommend it so far.

Thanks for your reply. Cheers!

Yeah, this is my second car without a CD player. My 2019 Mini Clubman had apple car play and USB, so I used the car play for things like phone communications and to utilize Waze as my GPS, but since I have my entire CD collection ripped to .mp3 files, I just throw them on a couple USB 3.0 flash drives and use them in the car. I'm pretty impressed with the Meridian system in the Jaguar compared to the Harmon Kardon of the Mini, but I'm still going to build a fiberglass / leather enclosure and add a Focal subwoofer to get the lower notes. Now to find the leather to match the interior of the car...
The software update fixed everything. Everything is functioning as expected. I now have zero complaints or issues with the ride.

I was surprised when I first heard the Meridian sound system as well. It's definitely one of the better ones you can get.
