Apparently, the E-Pace is going to be solely manufactured at factories in China and Austria. This is a first for Jaguar since their models are usually built in the UK and it does make me a bit concerned about the E-Pace's quality. I can understand building it in China for the Chinese market to avoid import duties, but what about the Austria plant and its production standards?

Jaguar E-Pace will NOT be built in the UK - a first for Jaguar

I assume Jaguar has quality control specialists at each plant to make sure the E-Pace meets their quality standards, and in most cases those produced in China will be sold to the Chinese and Asian markets to reduce import tax I believe.

I'm sure that even the Chinese want better build quality and are willing to supply it and pay for it, China is a growing leader in production much like how the US was years ago. I have confidence in JLR that these products will be built to the level of quality we expect them to. Still, going to inspect for myself when they arrive.

Wouldn't do for Jaguar to drop the ball on reliability and quality when they're trying to drop their old negative reputation for problems in those areas. I assume most the E-Paces built in Austria will be shipped Globally while those produced in China will be sold to the local market. That seems to be what other companies are doing to avoid those hefty import taxes and make themselves more competitive there.
