Terrible.
Did you speak to your dealer about it as yet?
I sense down the road Jaguar will just redesign the diffuser area to prevent it from happening.

I guess we can say he's lucky it happened during the warranty term. Outside of it, would be VERY costly considering what has to be fixed/replaced.
