Media player won't recognize and play videos

After carefully reading the manual on portable media (i.e. USB stick) I formatted my USB stick with several short films in media type files that are supposed to be recognized (MP4, m4v, etc) but they don't appear in tthe queu. Music files like MP# appear, but none of the movie files. Am I doing something wrong? I formatted the stick in FAT which is supposed to work, and since the audio files appear the formatting must be correct, but why don't the video files appear?

Mine only plays videos when in park - which is a safety thing. My drive is formatted in FAT32, not exFAT. Outside of that, have you verified that your car is on the latest software version?

I'm on a Mac and the only formatting options I have are FAT or exFAT so I chose FAT. But I also have Scheme options: Master Boot Record, GUID Partition Map and Apple Partition Map. I know nothing about formatting for the Jag. Which formatting option do you recommend. Also, as a reminder, I loaded the USB with MP3 music files which the media system sees and also mp4 movies which it didn't see so I figure my formatting must be ok since it is seeing the music, but maybe it needs a different formatting scheme to also see the movies?

I used an application called Rufus to format my 128GB drive to FAT32. The audio files on my drive are .wav and .mp3. My car plays both .mkv and .mp4 video files (when in park). It will not play them when in gear.

I don't believe Rufus is available for mac. Since your music files play, I don't believe the problem is with your formatting. What version of software is your system running? You may need an update to the software (I did).

A quick call to your salesman (a product specialist) can probably yield a pretty quick answer as well. Good luck!
